Las Vegas (hiking) Trip

Day 1 - Road trip to Hoover Dam (25 min) and Grand Canyon (4 hours) We walked the South Rim trail and headed back to Las Vegas about 2 hours later. It was a long day in the car, but the veiws were amazing.

Day 2 - Local hot springs trail down to the Colorodo River, In and Out Burgers, Las Vegas Strip. Andrew took us on the coolest local trail with hot springs all the way down. The trail was steep with large rocks and ropes to climb down. The springs were about 150 degrees! At the bottom we got to jump into the freezing river - about 50 degrees! I could barely catch my breath swimming in the water. Andrew and Eric jumped off a rock about 15 feet above the river.

Day 3 - St. George, Zion National Park. Elizabeth got to come with us to Zion where we rented water shoes and socks and hiked the Narrows trail. We spent 3 hours hiking, snacking, climbing, and taking pictures before we turned around to go back. Eric saw 2 of his track runners when we were headed back. It was a great hike.

Day 4 - Driving to Los Angeles, Hollywood Blvd, Dodgers Game. It took about 5 hours to drive into smogging Los Angeles. We stayed 2 blocks from Hollywood Blvd. after our hotal fiasco. The Dodgers lost to the Mets, but it was fun being at the stadium.

Day 5 - NBC Studios (Closed!), Original Cheesecake Factory, Beverly Drive, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Beach - Muscle Beach. We were going to take a studio tour, but the studios are closed on Saturdays! We ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then walked around on the ritsy streets of Beverly Hills. Later, Eric climbed the rope at Muscle Beach.

Day 6 - Red Rock Canyon, a National park with lots of hiking trails and views of the red rock. Eric and I hiked the Keystone Thrust trail, but we had a hard time deciding what geological feature was the Thrust.

FREE USA Rafting Trip

Tyler, Trevor and Jesse joined our team rafting down the French Broad River. Trevor forgot his shoes, but luckily he found some in the parking lot. The best part was floating down the river a little while out of the raft. Oh yeah, and that it was free!

These are some of my favorite pictures from the beach this year. We had a great oceanfront house with a pool and a hammock. It was so much fun as usual.
